Everyone that has ever used social
media are interactive visually. When people join Facebook or Twitter they
are visually looking at others posts, but they are also interacting with others
as well. Some people get interactive with different groups that can occur
on social media like getting different groups messaging wise. People can
make events and then share it with all of their friends and then their friends
can share it to theirs as well. It is a great way to get interactive with
making new friends. Another way that people can become interactive
visually on social media is if they get tagged in pictures. When someone
posts different pictures online and tags you in it, then their able to become
interactive with other people and they can see if they have anything in common
with some of the other people that are also tagged in the picture. This
relates to Digital Citizenship because you have to be interactive visually to
use technology and social media. They also will be able to see if what
people post online is proper and nice and if it is not then they can get a hold
of the head person and get it taken care of. Interacting visually online
happens every time that you are online. No matter what you are doing, you
are looking online at what is happening with your friends and families and that
is what digital citizens do as well.

Social Media and Crafts
Social Media and crafts is
something that I really enjoy. There are many different types of craft
videos that are now being uploaded to social media for others to be able to see
how to make them. There is a social media page called
"Pinterest" it is a place where you can pin different things such as
clothing, crafts, food, etc. It is a really nice place for people who are
creative and like to make crafts. They show you the steps and they are easy enough for people to understand. Facebook and Twitter are also
getting different craft videos that will show people how to do a craft or be
able to make different types of foods. Another craft that is one social
media that some people may not look at it as a craft is the webpage design.
There are people in a business that are working on the different pages
that could come around to be the next "look" for a page. Making
a webpage can be difficult because there is a lot of things that they have to
look at. All of the different types of fonts, colors, pictures, and
designs all add up to the craft of a social media page. Crafts and social
media relate to being a digital citizenship because people are using social
media which is on technology to become crafty. The only way that they are
able to make a webpage is on a computer. As for the videos people may be
taking it with their phones, but if they are taking it with a video camera it
is still digital citizenship because they have to then upload the video onto a
device and stream it up on social media. Crafts are all around social
media and next time you look at Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.
make sure that you look at the webpage design and see if you would be able to
do the same.

Social Networking
Social Networking is the use of websites and different
applications for you to interact with other and to find other people with some
of the same interests as yourself. Some
Social Networking websites include: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, and
LinkedIn. These different websites are
similar, but different at the same time.
On these websites people are able to put up posts and tell people what
is going on in their lives, put quotes up, or just to tell a story. Another thing is that you are able to put up pictures
of whatever is happening up for all of your friends and families to see. These networks help with people who are far
away from each other communicate and stay in touch with each other. People in college really appreciate it
because this will help them stay in touch with their family members and friends
and have them be able to see what everyone is up to and what is new in their
lives. This is related to Digital Citizenship by using all different
technologies with these websites either on the computer or they will upload the
app on their smart phones. They are
communicating with other people and making friends. Along with this they have to be smart with
what they put up online because there are rules with all of the social networks. The rules have to be followed because if they
were not the websites might be filled with really nasty things meaning words
and pictures. Cyberbullying does occur
on these social networks a lot more than it should. If people do see this though then they must
report it because cyberbullying is a very important issue. Social networks however can be really fun to
have because later in life you are able to look back at the beginning of when
you started posting and you can see all of the fun memories that you had when
you were younger. When people tag you in
a photo you are able to download the image onto your computer so you are able
to have it forever. Social networking is
a growing thing and so many people are using it to communicate and see either
other even when they are far away.
Social Media and Romantic Relationships
Social Media and Romantic Relationships are becoming more and
more popular. There are different types of online social apps that people
can download to their smart phones and check out some other people who are
using the app. Tinder is an app that lets people be able to meet other
people. A way to start talking to people on this app is if both of the
people swipe right to accept them. Some people will put up information so
people can look at more than pictures of them. It will say how far away
they are from you and how old they are. There are other online dating
websites that people use and some people are able to find their life partner
with these websites, but relationships are now becoming more and more popular
on social media. Facebook has a place where people can put that they are
in a relationship with someone and whenever people view their page they will
see what their "relationship status" is. It is a really great
way to have people be able to view if they are in a relationship or not, but if
you do not have it up on your Facebook page, then that means that you are not
"Facebook Official." This means that if you are dating someone
and they do not have it up on Facebook yet, then you are not really dating. This subject is of Digital Citizenship because putting on information on social media like if you are in a relationship is just the same as if you put your cell phone number up. It is something that you have to be careful of putting up online because not only is your friends going to see it, but if you "tag" the other person then their friends will also be able to see that. You have to be careful with what posts you put up because like I said before "be sure it is something that your mother and father can see." Being a Digital Citizen you will use technology and using technology in relationships are very common now and you have to remember that you have to treat each other the same way that you would want to be treated and make sure that you have each other's backs.
Digital Citizenship
Some new
sources that people can turn to in order to support the idea of Digital
Citizenship is to go online and look up Digital Citizenship and have them get
all different types of scholarly articles that they can read and get a lot of
feedback on. Another way that I would
have to show Digital Citizenship would be to have my own page and then put up
really good examples of how to be a good Digital Citizen and then things to
stay away from with that as well. I
think having my own page would be a really good resource to have because it
would be a lot of examples and then you can choose the ones that you would do
to make yourself a Digital Citizen. Some
things that we went over class would be how technology is taking over a lot of
businesses, schools, and work places.
People are starting to be a lot more comfortable on technology than they
are with having face-to-face communication.
It can be a bad thing, but people becoming Digital Citizens and that is
having to be a good person online and over technology. Another thing with learning this semester
would be that making friends on social media is a good way to become a Digital
Citizen because it helps with people who are living in a different city, state,
or country. There are many different
friendships that can keep going on social media that you had before social
media, but some people do meet them online and it can turn into a really good
friendship. There are many different
things that lead up to being a Digital Citizen, but if you are able to use
technology and social media, you are in the right track!
How To Be A Good Digital Citizen
Digital
Citizenship can be defined as someone who uses different types of technology
and they also use it appropriately, and has responsible behaviors. They
have to be able to have access to different types of technology which are known
as a computer, smart phone, IPad, etc. How to be a good Digital Citizen
is to be careful with what you put up online. Everyone on the internet
can see what you put online, unless you do have your devices private.
However, comments, photos, posts, and anything else you put up is not
guaranteed to be protected. A couple things that will make you a good
Digital Citizen is to treat others the way that you would like to be treated.
Just because you are not face-to-face with someone does not mean that you
can say anything you would like to even if it is not nice. Make sure that
whatever you put up on the digital world would be something that you can show
your mother or father. Another thing to do is to be safe. Some
internet sites might ask for your address or phone number. Be very
careful with what you fill out online because it could be hackers just trying
to get information from you. If you do not feel comfortable with
answering all of the questions on a social media page or other online sites, do
not fill them out. Knowing the rules of online sites are very crucial.
Each little site online has their own guidelines that are supposed to be
met and the people who makes these sites make the guidelines for a good reason.
They want their sites to be known in a good way. Finally, another
thing to be to be a good Digital Citizen is to be vigilant. Just like if
you were face-to-face with someone and they were getting harmed you would call
someone for help. The same rules apply with online sites. If there
is something harmful online you have to be able to report it right away.
Cyber-bullying is a very important thing to stay away from and so
everyone has to have each other’s backs. I would present the guidelines to
users that use social media in a digital format by having a page on the side
just like on Facebook I would have one of the drop down menus say
“Rules/Guidelines” and then people using the social media page would be able to
have full access of the rules.
